Live tracking and smart routing for 500 deliveries a day.
Our client handles the last leg of a delivery, the trip across the city that costs the most and goes wrong the most. Their drivers knew the roads, but routes were planned by hand each morning and rarely survived real traffic. Fuel was the second largest cost in the business, and a lot of it was spent doubling back. Customers had no idea where a parcel was until it arrived, so the phones rang all day with the same question.
We put a live map under the whole operation. Every vehicle reports its position continuously, and a routing engine works out the best order of stops for each driver and adjusts as the day changes. When a package goes out for delivery, the customer gets an automatic message with a realistic window, and the calls stop. The same stream of data shows which drivers and which routes are doing well and which need a look.
Fuel spending came down by 30 percent. Deliveries were arriving 40 percent faster, and customer satisfaction rose to 92 percent once people stopped wondering where their orders were. The hub now runs more than 500 deliveries a day on the same fleet.
