Last updated 8 September 2026

This policy explains what information Cytrl Ltd (“Cytrl”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit cytrl.africa or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at info@cytrl.africa.

What we collect

When you browse the site

If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we use a self hosted analytics toolx to understand how the site is used. It records:

  • pages viewed and the order they were viewed in
  • the site or search that referred you
  • approximate location at country level, from your IP address
  • browser, operating system, device type and screen size
  • interactions with key links and buttons, such as opening a case study or submitting the contact form

With the same consent we also capture occasional session recordings, which replay how a visit moved through the pages so we can find and fix usability problems. Recordings do not capture what you type into form fields.

We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with data from other sources. If you decline, or you have never made a choice, none of this runs.

When you contact us

The contact form opens a message in your own email application with the details you entered, which may include your name, email address, business name, phone number, area of interest, budget and whatever you write in the message. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app, and the message reaches us as an ordinary email.

Cookies and local storage

Our analytics does not use cookies. We store one item in your browser's local storage, cytrl-consent, to remember whether you accepted or declined analytics so we do not ask again on every page. Session recording may set its own storage while active. We do not use advertising cookies or cross site trackers.

Why we use it and our legal basis

  • Analytics and session recordings: your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Handling your enquiry: to respond to you and take steps towards possible work together, which is our legitimate interest and, if we go on to work with you, the performance of a contract.

Who we share it with

Analytics and recording data stays on infrastructure we control and is not shared with third parties. Email you send us is handled by our email provider on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable follow up period, then delete them. Analytics is retained in aggregate for trend analysis and is not tied to an individual.

Your choices and rights

You can accept or decline analytics when you first visit, and change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the site footer.

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, and other data protection law that may apply to you, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@cytrl.africa and we will respond within the time the law allows. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, or your local supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
